Capcom unveils Resident Evil 6

Capcom has recently announced the long-awaited Resident Evil 6, which is scheduled to be released November 20, 2012 for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The trailer for the game was released after several teaser videos on the site NoHopeLeft.com hinted at the release of the another Resident Evil game.


The trailer shows Leon Kennedy, star of Resident Evil 2 and 4, as well as Chris Redfield from the most recent, Resident Evil 5, who are both confirmed to be playable characters. An additional character, who has yet to named, also features gameplay footage.
Gaming website IGN has claimed that Ada Wong, an enigma from the series, has been confirmed as a playable character when the main campaigns are completed. In addition, xbox.com listed the game as having up to 6-player co-op online, a first for the series, though it has been taken down recently.
Capcom released in a statement, “It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident, and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.”
Resident Evil 6 will mark the third Resident Evil game being released this year, with Resident Evil Revelations for the 3DS being released next month, and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City scheduled for release in March.
